Rupi Kaurs Instapoesie als hybrides Publikationsmodell

Das Residuum einer Verhältnisbestimmung von Selfpublishing und Social-Media-Praxis bildet den Hintergrund der in diesem Aufsatz gestellten Frage nach der Kontinuität zwischen beiden Formen des Selbstpublizierens in Rupi Kaurs Instapoesie. Die mit dem Begriff des ,Self(ie)-Publishings‘ adressierte Durchdringung und Ergänzung von Posting und Publishing in Kaurs Instapoesie erfordert es, wie die folgende Analyse zeigt, überlieferte Begriffe von Autorschaft, Werk und Publikum zu überdenken und das Selbstveröffentlichen als literarische Praxis zu begreifen. Posting und Publishing ebenso wie digitales und analoges Publizieren erscheinen dabei als Variationen eines hybriden Publikationsmodells.

The residue from the clarification of the relationship between self-publishing and social media practice forms the background to the question discussed in this article about the continuity between these two forms of self-publishing in Rupi Kaur’s Instapoetry. As the following analysis shows, the interpenetration and complementation of posting and publishing in Kaur’s Instapoetry, characterised by the concept of ‘self(ie)-publishing’, requires us to rethink traditional concepts of authorship, work and audience and to embrace self-publishing as a literary practice. In the same way as digital and analogue publishing, posting and publishing appear as variations of a hybrid publication model.
