Phraseologie pur – Die Konstruktion X_[Nomen] pur als produktive und keineswegs ungrammatische Modellbildung

Die Nachstellung des Adjektivattributs pur findet sich heutzutage immer häufiger im konkreten – sowohl schriftlichen als auch mündlichen – Sprachgebrauch. Von einigen Laiensprachkritikern wird diese Verwendungsweise jedoch als ungrammatisch empfunden. Adjektive müssten ihrem Bezugswort vorangestellt werden – so ihre Argumentation. Der vorliegende Artikel widerspricht aus linguistisch fundierter Perspektive dieser Auffassung. Die pur-Konstruktion wird dabei als eine gängige und völlig unproblematische phraseologische Modellbildung interpretiert. Mithilfe von Korpusanalysen wird sie aus struktureller, semantischer und pragmatischer Sicht detailliert beschrieben. Zudem werden zwei weitere Konstruktionen mit nachgestelltem Adjektivattribut (satt und brutal) vorgestellt. Zur Relativierung des von Laien angeprangerten ungrammatischen Charakters werden schließlich auch konstruktionsgrammatische Überlegungen miteinbezogen.

The postposition of the attributive adjective pur can be found more and more frequently in written and spoken German. Nevertheless, some lay language critics deem this use ungrammatical, arguing that adjectives have to precede the words they refer to. The present article contradicts this lay criticism from a linguistic perspective, interpreting the pur-construction as a common and completely unproblematic phraseological pattern. The article proceeds to describe this construction from a structural, semantic and pragmatic point of view on the basis of corpus analysis. It also discusses two other constructions that use postposed attributive adjectives (satt and brutal). To further relativise the ungrammatical character pilloried by the lay critics, the argumentation presented here also incorporates ideas from construction grammar.
