Die Wundersäule als ästhetisches Objekt in Wolframs „Parzival“

Anhand der Beschäftigung mit der Wundersäule in Wolframs „Parzival“ untersucht der Beitrag die Wirkung des ästhetischen Objekts auf die Konstitution des es umgebenen Raumes sowie die Interaktion zwischen Ding und Figur. Dabei wird der Raum auf zwei Ebenen verortet: sowohl im Hinblick auf das Geschehen – und damit als einen für die Figuren wahrnehmbaren Komplex auf der histoire-Ebene – als auch auf der Ebene der Poetik des Erzählens, auf der sich dieser in der diagrammatischen Figuration des Rezipienten überhaupt erst ausbreitet. Die letztere Dimension des Raumes entfaltet sich in der Imagination des Rezipienten als Diagramm, über das die Metaphorik der Figurenbeziehung in Zusammenhang mit der Gegenständlichkeit des Objekts gebracht wird. Die Logik des Diagramms lässt sich über die ästhetischen Objekte entlang der Erzählung entfalten, sie wird aber auch im Bogengleichnis metaphorisch angedeutet.

Starting from an interest in the Wundersäule in Wolfram’s “Parzival”, the article examines the effect of the aesthetic object on the constitution of the space surrounding it, as well as the interaction between object and figure. The space is located on two levels: both in terms of the event – and thus as a complex perceptible to the characters on the level of the histoire – and on the level of the poetics of the narrative, where it first appears in the diagrammatic figuration of the recipient. This latter dimension of space can develop in the imagination of the recipient as a diagram which relates the metaphoricity of the relationship between the figures to the representationality of the object. The logic of the diagram can be unfolded through the aesthetic objects in the course of the narrative, but it is also suggested metaphorically in the allegory of the arch.
